Dedham Westwood Water District (DWWD) has announced on its website that mandatory water restrictions, affecting the use of outdoor lawn sprinklers, are in effect as of July 21, 2022, due to "the current drought and streamflow conditions."

Westwood residents should limit use of lawn sprinklers to Tuesdays and Fridays between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Dedham residents should limit use of lawn sprinklers to Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Hand-held hoses may be used anytime, on any day, to water flowers or vegetables.

While not a mandate, DWWD suggests residents take the option to help conserve water by using hand-held hoses or watering cans outdoors after 5:00 p.m. or before 9:00 a.m.
