How to Participate in Town Government - Week of November 20, 2022

This week, there six meetings of town government, as of the time of this posting.  Highlights include Select Board's public hearing on Monday morning regarding allocation of taxes between the residential and commercial classes and the Board of Registrars counting ballots that were mailed from outside the country.


Select Board Public Hearing and Meeting via Zoom, Monday, November 21, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. The board will hold a hearing for taxpayer feedback on how to allocate the tax burden between the residential class and the commercial class.  It will also take action on authorizing the Town Administrator to execute acquisition documents concerning American Legion Hall. Board of Registrars In-Person Meeting, Monday November 21, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. The board will be counting any ballots that were mailed from outside the United States and received by Election Day, November 8, 2022 by 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Town Clerk's Office at 580 High Street.


Westwood Youth & Family Services Advisory Board Meeting via Zoom, Monday November 21, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. The board will discuss the holiday giving program, Be SMARRT Program Students Modeling & Advocating for Respectful Relationships at Thurston, and new business from community liaisons. Westwood Recreation Commission Meeting via Zoom, Monday, November 21, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. Commission members will report on in-person meetings and summer registration. The commission will also hear a report on a new aquatics specialist, winter programs, retiling the pool deck and pickleball. For information on how to join, click here.


Audit Committee In-Person Meeting, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. The committee will review final FY 2022 financial statements and introduce Westwood's new Assistant Town Administrator and Finance Director Stephanie McManus. The meeting will be held at the Jaillet Meeting Room of Westwood Police Station at 588 High Street.


Dedham Westwood Water Meeting via Zoom, Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. On the agenda are a review and action on the modified 2023 Operating Budget, the modified 2023 Capital Budget, reports by the treasurer, business manager, operations manager and executive director.
