Highlights from this week's meetings of town government include:

Mon. 1/23: Westwood Youth & Family Services holds an open discussion on potential community needs;

Tues. 1/24: Select Board hears a financial update and discusses possible warrant articles to put up for resident vote at May's Town Meeting; 

Wed. 1/25: Conservation Commission discusses a potential Conservation Land Management Plan and tree policy/bylaw/ordinance;

Thurs. 1/26: Pedestrian & Bicycle Safety Committee discusses the Complete Streets Policy.


Westwood Youth & Family Services In-Person Advisory Meeting, Monday, January 23, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. On the agenda are an open discussion on potential community needs and updates from the schools, community liaisons, staffing, and nominations for the Recognize A Youth award. This in-person meeting will be held in the small meeting room at Wentworth Hall at 273 Washington Street.


Recreation Commission Meeting via Zoom, Monday, January 23, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.  The commission will discuss the FY2024 budget, bylaws, iSTEAM update, spring-summer programming, and pickleball facilities, among other items. For information on how to join this meeting remotely, click here.


Westwood Housing Authority/Westwood Affordable Housing Associates, Inc. Meeting via Zoom, Monday, January 23, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. WHA/WAHA will discuss "DHCD Waiver 2- Granting Approval of Town-Appointed Tenant Board Member Requirement," a 5-year plan/future spending update, updates on tenant occupancy and properties renovations projects, among other items. West Suburban Veterans' District In-Person Meeting, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. An agenda for this meeting is not yet available. The meeting will be held in the Training Room of the Public Safety Building at 38 Cochituate Road in Wayland.


Select Board Meeting via Zoom, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. Select Board continues its discussion and potential vote regarding possible warrant articles to present for Town Meeting. Assistant Town Administrator and Finance Director Stephanie McManus continues her discussion of a financial update and the FY 2024 proposed budget.

Planning Board Public Hearings and Meeting via Zoom, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. On the agenda are public hearings (meeting materials available here):

Conservation Commission In-Person Public Hearings and Meeting, Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The commission continues discussion on a potential Conservation Land Management Plan and tree policy/bylaw/ordinance. It will also hold public hearings regarding the properties at 7 Little Boot Lane (addition), 131 Bay Colony Drive (in-ground swimming pool), 490 Gay Street (wetland boundary), 215 High Street (barn improvements with new home and arena), 510 Far Reach Road (constructing single family home and landscaping), and Downey Street (sidewalk). Also on the agenda are taking action on protecting pollinators and DEP file no. 338-0714 at 7 Long Meadow Drive.

This in-person meeting is being held in the Champagne Meeting Room at 50 Carby Street.


Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Committee In-Person Meeting, Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. The committee will discuss the Complete Streets Policy, Westwood Community Trails, H5103 Four-Foot Rule, speed limit on University Avenue and hear updates from Police, Public Works, and Planning Board. This in-person meeting is being held in the Champagne Meeting Room at 50 Carby Street.
