Season Opening Biergarten - Fri Apr 22 7:00 pm

Boylston Schul-Verein (German Club)

The local German club in Walpole hosts its first Biergarten of the season, with a portion of proceeds benefitting the club's sport programs. There will be a live band performing classic and modern rock, 50/50 raffle, and a menu that includes bratwurst with sauerkraut on a roll, giant Bavarian pretzels, ice cream, bakery items, and of course, beer. This event is open to the public and runs on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.  [more details]

In-person tickets are sold-out, but online tickets are still available for this podcast festival for kids that runs on Saturday, April 23, 2022 and Sunday, April 24, 2022. Performers tell folktales to kids (ages 3 to 10) with music in "Circle Round," host a science podcast in "Brains On!", answer kid questions in "But Why" and create comedy and songs with children's input in "Story Pirates." [more details]

35th Annual Sheepshearing Festival at Gore Place - Sat Apr 23 10:00 am

Gore Place

The Sheepshearing Festival will be held rain or shine, on Saturday April 24, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It includes demonstrations of traditional sheep shearing, herding dogs, handmade craft and fiber artists, historical reenactments, and live music.Gore Place members and children aged 12 and under are admitted free. Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship - Sat Apr 23 2:30 pm

View off-road motorcycling racing by elite riders on a custom-designed track at Gillette Stadium this Saturday, April 23, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. The dirt track features fast straightaways, jumps, and tight corners and plenty of opportunity for the riders to show off their skills.Tickets start at $25, although prices are subject to change.  [more details]


GBH 5K Run for Public Media - Sun Apr 24 9:00 am

GBH hosts a hybrid 5K run, for which runners can participate in-person or remotely on Sunday, April 24, 2022. For virtual participants, there is an option to post their times on Facebook. Runners and fans of GBH will enjoy a one mile Kids' Fun Run at 9:00 a.m. for children aged 2 to 9 years old. At 10:00 a.m., runners aged 10 years old and up can participate in the traditional 5K, along the Charles River and through DCR Artesani Park. [more details]


29th Annual Take-a-Walk - Sun Apr 24 10:00 am

Dedham Savings and James Joyce Ramble 10K Road Race.

This event benefits cancer research and development of Dana Farber Cancer Institute.  Walkers will pass through a scenic course that begins and ends at Endicott Estate in Dedham. The entry fee of $5 is waived if you have a sponsor sheet with pledges of over $20 total. Pledges should be paid in advance. Prizes are given to the top ten fundraising individuals. [more details]

Newton's Earth Day Festival - Sun Apr 24 1:00 pm

Green Newton, City of Newton's Climate Team and EV Task Force

From 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the War Memorial Circle at Newton City Hall, there will be live music, a petting zoo, face painting, a green technology showcase, electric vehicles on display, nature-themed activities, exhibitors, and food. This event will take place rain or shine, as there are indoor facilities available at the War Memorial Auditorium.  [more details]
