A cat and dog food drive is being held from through August 10, 2022 at all three locations of the Animal Rescue League of Boston, including its Dedham location. Unopened, unexpired, dry or wet cat and dog food is being collected. Keep Pets S.A.F.E. (Supporting Animals Facing Emergencies) also has an Amazon Wish List and Chewy Wish List.
Donations may be left inside when the building is open, Wednesday through Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. When the building is closed, donations may be left by the main doors.
Around the start of the pandemic, the Keep Pets S.A.F.E. was launched to help qualified residents of Roxbury, Dorchester and Mattapan with food and supplies for their pets. Over the course of about two years, more than 360,000 meals have been delivered and more than 1,260 pets have been assisted.
Inflation and the pandemic have added pressure to the ability of Keep Pets S.A.F.E. to continue its mission. The food drive is intended to help restore the Keep Pets S.A.F.E. pantry.
