The South Asian Association hosts its annual Westwood Diwali Festival which includes an opening ceremony with parade, diya lighting, prayer song and student speeches at 6:30 p.m. Dinner consisting of South Asian food will be at 7:00 p.m., followed at 8:00 p.m. by a dance performance, dessert, chai, and dancing for all. In promulgating the public comment policy, the Select Board has taken a big step towards showing willingness to engage in conversation with Westwood residents about the many important issues at hand—currently, the Fire Station 1 and the budget.
