Author Vincent Quealy explores the life of his paternal grandmother and the hardships of her family in Ireland under British rule in his book, Reflections of an Irish Grandson.

In the book, Dropkick Murphy, author Emily Sweeney chronicles the life of a professional wrestler who put himself through medical school and opened Bellows Farm, an institution frequented by celebrities in the day, while serving recovering alcoholics alongside elite athletes in training.
