The Canton Historical Society invites the community to spend a summer evening under the stars at its Summer Lawn Party Concert on Saturday, July 25, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Canton Historical Society.
Guests will enjoy an evening of live acoustic music by Frank Drake, whose warm, roots-driven sound blends bluegrass, traditional acoustic music, original songs, and thoughtfully selected covers. Based in the Boston area, Drake performs in a variety of configurations, from solo performances to full bands, drawing on years of collaboration with some of New England's finest acoustic musicians. His performances are known for their authenticity, musicianship, and the welcoming atmosphere they create.
In keeping with the spirit of a classic New England summer gathering, the Historical Society will serve ice cream and fresh lemonade throughout the evening.
A suggested donation of $5 per person or $15 per family is requested. All proceeds will benefit the Canton Historical Society and help support its mission to preserve, protect, and share the rich history of Canton through educational programs, exhibitions, and the care of its collections.
"This is exactly the kind of evening we hope our community will enjoy," said George T. Comeau, President of the Canton Historical Society. "Bring a lawn chair or blanket, relax with family and friends, enjoy outstanding local music, and help support the preservation of Canton’s remarkable history. We want the Historical Society to be a place where history, community, and tradition come together."
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. In the event of inclement weather, updates will be posted on the Canton Historical Society's social media channels.
The Canton Historical Society, founded in 1871, is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the stories, artifacts, and traditions that define Canton.
