Are you thinking about throwing away a piece of furniture during Westwood’s October Bulk Pickup collection by the DPW? Instead, you can give that item a second life by donating it to New Life Furniture Bank, which provides gently used household furnishings to individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness.

The event is the first of two events organized by Westwood Environmental Action Committee in October. On Sunday, October 11, New Life Furniture Bank will be collecting the following items in Westwood only:

● dressers

● desks

● dining tables

● dining chairs

● bookcases

● coffee tables

WEAC will also be holding a Repair Café on Saturday, October 18, during which the community is invited to bring broken items to skilled volunteer "fixers" who will attempt to repair the items, as part of an effort to reduce waste and consumption.
