With a 10:00 a.m. start on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from Norwood High School, this race runs over the town line into Westwood on Oak, Pond, Clapboardtree and Winter streets before returning to Norwood and finishing where it started.
All net proceeds will be donated to Run for a Vet, an organization that aids local vets and families. Past assistance has taken the form of donations to veterans' families for auto repairs, temporary housing for a military widow, job placement for an unemployed veteran and coverage of a veteran's funeral costs.
This year's event honors First Lieutenant Richard Hillberg, retired from the U.S. Army. The lieutenant served in Vietnam and is a Silver Star and Bronze Star recipient.
The race also honors the memory of U.S. Army veteran Frederick Maguire, a member of 182 Sapper Company who served in Iraq.
For event information and to register, click here. The cost is $25 and registration ends Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
