Updated 9/15/2022 at 12:17 a.m. Registration information for a 5K Road Race and One Mile Fun Run has been added.

Westwood Day is this Saturday, September 17, 2022, and for those who can't wait, the celebration begins the evening before, with fireworks and a football game on Friday at Westwood High School's Flahive Field.

The Wolverines play the Bellingham Hawks on Friday, September 16, 2022, with kick-off at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are just $5 for students and senior citizens and $7 for adults. They can be purchased by clicking here.

After Friday night's football and fireworks, Westwood Day will be held outdoors on Saturday - rain or shine - with most activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the high school grounds. Admission is free.  This year's event marks the Town of Westwood's 125th anniversary.

Ahead of the other activities is a 5K Road Race at 9:00 a.m., and a One Mile Fun Run at 10:00 a.m. Registration for the 5K Road Race is $15 and free for the Fun Run. Online registration remains open through Thursday, September 15, 2022, until 11:59 p.m. To register, click here.

Public parking is available at St. Margaret Mary's Church (845 High Street), First Baptist Church (808 High Street), and Thurston Middle School (850 High Street). Handicap parking will be in the parking area in front of the Recreation Pool (240 Nahatan Street) and Council on Aging (60 Nahatan Street). There will be no shuttle bus this year, but golf carts will transport visitors from the Council on Aging to the high school grounds.

Entering from the left side of the school building (west side), the first activities you will encounter are the Vendor Village and a food court where you can pick up a cup of coffee and food offerings like baked goods, lobster rolls, Chinese dumplings, burritos, hot dogs, and tacos. There's also ice cream, frozen yogurt or cannolis for dessert.

Enter on the right (east side) to start your day with activities like Touch-A-Truck and the childrens' Inflatables area.
