Last Week for Yard Waste Pickup

The week of November 28 to December 2 is the Town of Westwood's last scheduled week for yard waste and leaf pickup in 2022.

Residents can leave paper bags for yard waste or loosely packed barrels marked "leaves," not exceeding 45 pounds, outside their homes and curbside for collection, by 7:00 a.m. on their trash pick-up day.

No plastic bags, dirt, rocks, stone or gravel will be accepted, as the composting site will reject them.

I wish the town would extend yard waste pickup a couple of weeks into December, continue it more frequently in the spring and summer, and collect recycling every week--or provide a self-serve site like they do with the cardboard dumpster over the holidays. There have been years when we saved the leaf bags through the winter and put them out, falling apart, in the spring--and I have a backlog of recycles in the garage to reload as soon as my two bins are emptied today.
