How to Participate in Town Government - Week of January 29, 2023

Highlights in this week's meetings of town government:

Tues. 1/31: Select Board acts on Solar Phase II, hears financial updates and proposals for the FY2024 budget, and discusses possible articles to present to residents at May's Town Meeting.

Tues. 1/31 (and possibly Wed. 2/1): Finance and Warrant Commission hears updates on warrant articles, Hale Reservation, and the proposed FY2024 budget.

Thurs. 2/2: Westwood Environmental Action Committee holds a community forum to educate residents and answer questions about the Community Choice Electricity program


Select Board Public Hearing and Meeting via Zoom, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. The Select Board will take action on Solar Phase II - the power purchase agreement regarding solar canopies in the Westwood High School Parking lot. The board will also continue hearing a financial update from Assistant Town Administrator and Finance Director Stephanie McManus that includes preparing a proposed FY 2024 budget. The board will discuss possible articles for town meeting and may vote to amend, accept or remove articles. 

A public hearing will be held on the request of Neroli Restaurant for an entertainment license that covers live performances and other entertainment.

Finance and Warrant Commission (FinCom) Meeting via Zoom, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. In this first of two scheduled sessions this week, FinCom will hear updates on the FY2024 proposed budget, ATM 2023 warrant articles, Hale Reservation and Westwood Housing Authority capital expenditures. A second session will be held the following day, if needed.

FinCom Meeting via Zoom, Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. If needed, this second of session will follow FinCom's remote meeting the previous day. FinCom will hear updates on the FY2024 proposed budget, ATM 2023 warrant articles, Hale Reservation and Westwood Housing Authority capital expenditures.

Westwood Environmental Action Committee In-Person Community Forum, Thursday, February 2, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. This conversation covers the basics of the Westwood Community Choice Electricity (CCE) Program. Discussion includes a description of CCE, consumer choices, costs, signing up, electric suppliers, green electricity and answers to other questions.
