Westwood resident Kiersten Khoury found success at the preliminary competition for Miss Massachusetts on Friday, June 23rd, and continued on to Saturday's competition where she finished her competitive run as a Top 10 Finalist.

Kiersten Khoury competes in the talent portion of the Miss Massachusetts competition with a tap dance routine.Although Ms. Khoury didn't nab the overall title, the Westwood resident leaves the Miss Massachusetts competition having earned a number of scholarship awards. On Friday, Ms. Khoury won the evening gown competition, earning her a $200 scholarship award. As a Top 10 Finalist, she won another $400 scholarship. In Saturday's competition among the finalists, Ms. Khoury won the Frederick T. McCarthy interview award, which came with a $800 scholarship. In all, Ms. Khoury earned $1,400 in scholarship funding through her participation in the event.

A Top 3 Finalist in the Miss Massachusetts 2021 competition, Ms. Vuong received her education at Harvard University. She co-founded Financial Mile, a non-profit that helps students with personal finance and career development, hosts a podcast called The Currency Coach, and is a business analyst at McKinsey & Company. With her win, Ms. Vuong earns a $15,000 scholarship and will represent Massachusetts in the upcoming Miss America competition.
