Community members are invited to participate in a "Community Visioning Session for the Climate Action, Resiliency & Sustainability Plan," on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 6:00 p.m., in the Community Meeting Room of the Westwood Main Library.

The October 19th meeting is the first of two such meetings in the coming months. The second meeting will be held on November 2, 2023.

According to the Town of Westwood's web page dedicated to the Climate Action, Resiliency, & Sustainability Plan, the town's newly established Climate Action Task Force is advising the Town Planner on the completing a climate action plan. The advisory process includes a series of community assessments and engaging residents and stakeholders.

The final climate action plan will address five areas of town operations: (1) land use and transportation; (2) natural and working lands; (3)sustainable buildings and clean energy use; (4) resiliency planning and implementation; and (5) water and waste management.

The session is hosted by Westwood's Community & Economic Development department and the newly established Climate Action Taskforce. The task force held its first meeting on September 14, 2023. Notice of the public meeting was recently posted this week to the Town of Westwood's calendar.
