Westwood Fire Department Hosts Open House to Showcase Operations and Address Facility Needs (Updated)

Westwood, April 29, 2024 — The Westwood Fire Department states that its members are excited to invite the community to an Open House event at Station 1 - the main fire station located at 637 High Street - on Saturday, May 11th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This event aims to provide insight into the operations of the fire department, discuss the critical needs of a 21st-century fire department, and address the limitations of the current station facility.
The Open House offers attendees the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by firefighters and emergency responders. Visitors will have the chance to explore various aspects of the fire station, engage with experienced firefighters, and learn about the essential services provided to the community.
Chief Steve Lund emphasized the importance of community involvement in understanding the needs of the fire department. “The goal with this Open House is to educate the public on the crucial role of our firefighters and the challenges presented by the current facility on High Street."
Chief Lund added. "This is an excellent opportunity for residents to see the station up close and to ask questions regarding the future of our fire department."
The Westwood Fire Department states that it is committed to providing the highest level of service to the community and looks forward to engaging with residents during the Open House event.
