Westwood resident Cate Herndon, a senior at Endicott College, has been named to the Conference New England (CNE) Community Service Team, announced Endicott Athletics and Recreation on November 19, 2024. Ms. Herndon received the award which is given to one student athlete per institution, who demonstrates commitment to their community. This award replaces the Team Sportsmanship award.
Ms. Herndon is a member of the Endicott Gulls Women's Cross Country Team. In both 2022 and 2023, she earned CCC Academic All-Conference recognition.
The Gulls finished fifth at the CNE Championship and 14th at NCAA DIII East Regionals.

These are great strides in addressing concerns about a lack of openness and two way dialogue raised by Westwood citizens. Thanks to the Select Board and to Mr. Read for listening and acting.

In promulgating the public comment policy, the Select Board has taken a big step towards showing willingness to engage in conversation with Westwood residents about the many important issues at hand—currently, the Fire Station 1 and the budget.
