Today, Saturday, July 10, 2021 is the first day volunteers are onsite to help build the South Shore Habitat for Humanity house. The work is taking place at the corner of Burgess Avenue and Highview Street in Westwood. The house build is expected to take 9 months to complete.
Additional volunteer opportunities to help build this home are available and will continue to be updated at SSHabitat's site. At this minute, one volunteer slot is still open for the next build day of Saturday, July 17, 2021. Build days begin at 8 a.m. and run until 3:30 p.m.

First of all, the intersection improvements are scheduled for the upcoming years and they are not related to Westwood at all.
The plaza on 109 where the Post Office is located would be a prime site for a modern development. It is a relic from the 1950#. Why haven’t the town planners sought a project for that location?
This is Route 1, the most heavily commercialized corridor in the region, and calling this an “existential threat” isn’t based in reality.
