Westwood American Legion Post 320 Accepting Applications to Sponsor Students in Citizenship, Government, and Leadership Program
Westwood American Legion Post 320 in February has announced that it is accepting applications to a Post 320-sponsored intensive week of studying responsible citizenship, government, and leadership. The 2026 American Legion Boys & Girls State program will be held at Stonehill College from June 13th through June 19th. It is open to students who are completing or have just completed their junior year.
The goal of the American Legion Boys & Girls State is to provide eligible students with an intensive week of studying responsible citizenship, government, and leadership. Participants will spend a week self-governing within their assigned municipality by electing officials, debating bills, and solving community problems. They are expected to leave the week-long program with a better understanding of local and state government and how to be an active citizen within their communities.
The program is built on the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary’s foundation of Americanism and God and Country, in the spirit of service, not self.
