Dear Reader,
As we approach the end of summer, I hope you have had opportunities to enjoy a slower pace and time away from your usual routines.
After a busy summer of covering local news, I'll be taking my own short break from Westwood Minute’s normal daily publishing schedule through Labor Day, September 7. Daily writing has been a discipline for me, but for a short time, I'll be writing at a slower pace.
Please keep in mind that community submissions continue to be welcome and self-posting is an option, at any time. If you have news to share and haven't tried the self-post option yet, consider giving it a go! Just register, review our Community Guidelines, compose your content (click here for a tutorial), and post!
Thank you for reading, sharing, and making Westwood Minute part of your daily routine. Your participation - whether as a reader, contributor, or financial supporter - helps build a more informed community and supports Westwood Minute’s independent reporting on local government and community happenings.
I look forward to returning refreshed and ready to resume my normal schedule and bring you the local news that matters to you! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the remaining weeks of summer. Please continue to check in now and then to stay connected with Westwood Minute!
Thanks and best,
Darlene

Thank you for this article! It’s so nice to see these staff members acknowledged for their hard work. I am especially grateful to our custodial staff who maintain the cleanliness of learning spaces during cold and flu season and any waves of the stomach bug.
I cannot remember the last time one of our elected reps (Lynch, Rush, or McMurtry) agreed to sit down with a challenger and answer questions.
