Through the Weekend

Mamma Mia! Westwood High School. Friday at 7:30 p.m, Saturday at 2:00 p.m. & 7:30 p.m. Westwood High School students will perform in a play featuring the music of ABBA. Masks are optional. Online ticketing ends one hour before showtime. Updates will be posted on Instagram regarding ticket availability at the door. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors and are available here.

St. Patty's Day Belly Crawl, Busy Paws Pet Supply, Washington Street, Westwood. Friday & Saturday. Islington's new pet store is hosting a St. Patty's Day belly crawl for your dog or cat. It includes bone broth treats topped with a little freeze dried treats. The free event runs from Thursday, March 17th through Saturday, March 19th. 

BSO Streaming Event: Erich Leinsdorf conducts American premiere of Britten's "War Requiem," online event. Available online through April 9, 2022. Filmed in black and white in 1963, the BSO performs the work of the pacifist composer Britten which includes vocals and poetry. Click here to view.

Saturday, March 19th

MIAA Basketball State Finals, Tsongas Center. 4:00 p.m.  and 6:00 p.m. Norwood plays Malden Catholic at 4:00 p.m. for the 2022 MIAA Division 2 Boys Basketball title. Then at 6:00 p.m., Norwood plays Oliver Ames at 6:00 p.m. for the MIAA Division 2 Girls Basketball title. Final games of Division 4 will also be played earlier in the day.  One $15 ticket is valid for all Saturday games. Tickets are available here.

Sunday, March 20th

Scituate St. Patrick's Parade, Scituate, 1:00 p.m. Said to be the largest St. Patrick's parade on the South Shore, the "St. Patrick's Parade on the Irish Riviera" starts at the old Gate's Middle School on First Parish Road. It continues downtown and ends at 44 Jericho Road. Numerous bands are scheduled to perform. The parade also includes the Shriners Cape Code Fire Brigade and Clowns Unit along with some antique military vehicles. Activities include games, food, drink, and a Mayor's Race. Revels Spring Sing - A Family Celebration of the Vernal Equinox, The Center for the Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland avenue Suite 1C, Somerville, 3:00 p.m. The Revels officially welcome spring in a concert featuring jazz bandleader, saxophonist and vocal soloist Stan Strickland. He will be joined by performers on keyboard, bass and drums. Claire Dickson will also perform vocals. Dr. Kathy Bullock and David Coffin will lead the audience in a sing along to several songs. There is limited free parking on-site and free street parking. Tickets are $35 per adult with a $4 fee, $10 for youth under 18 plus a $2 fee. Children under 2 years of age attend for free. Reduced ticket pricing is also available by writing to info@revels.org. MIAA Basketball State Finals, Tsongas Center. 6:00 p.m. Newton North faces Boston College High School for the Division 1 Boys Basketball State Championship. Earlier in the day are state finals for Division 1 Girls Basketball and Division 5 Boys and Girls Basketball.  One $15 ticket is valid for all Sunday games. Tickets are available here.

MIAA Hockey State Championship Games, TD Garden, 1:00 p.m., 3:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Watch Xaverian Brothers High School battle it out with St. John's Prep for the Division 1 state title at 7:45 p.m.  Also playing at 1:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. respectively for Division 2 titles will be Canton Girls Ice Hockey v. Algonquin and Canton Boys Ice Hockey v Tewksbury. Tickets are $15 each and are available from Ticketmaster.
