The unofficial results are in from Westwood's Town Election. For the two contested races for School Committee and the one-year term on Planning Board, here's what it looks like:
Incumbent Anthony Mullin has won re-election to School Committee and and Dorothy "Dori" Parmelee has prevailed over Heather Morrison for the second open seat for School Committee.
Philip Giordano has won a close race over incumbent Thomas McCusker for Planning Board.
Westwood Media Center recorded these unofficial results on Tuesday night shortly before 9:00 p.m. Additional details will follow in an article to come in Westwood Minute.
These are great strides in addressing concerns about a lack of openness and two way dialogue raised by Westwood citizens. Thanks to the Select Board and to Mr. Read for listening and acting.
Thank you Ms. Galkowski for this thoughtful acknowledgement of positive steps being made by our Town government. My generation loves the positive empowerment. Exemplary.
In promulgating the public comment policy, the Select Board has taken a big step towards showing willingness to engage in conversation with Westwood residents about the many important issues at hand—currently, the Fire Station 1 and the budget.
