Norfolk County Sheriff McDermott Hires Needham Resident as Director of Information Technology

DEDHAM, MA – Norfolk County Sheriff Patrick McDermott announced that he has hired John Kalamvokis to head up the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office’s IT division as its Director of Information Technology.

“John brings a wealth of experience in both IT and public safety to our organization, and we are very lucky to have someone of his caliber managing a critical part of our IT security,” said Sheriff McDermott.

Kalamvokis is coming to the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office from the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office in Billerica, where he worked as the agency’s Systems Administrator. Prior to that, he was employed in the private sector as an information technology specialist in the insurance industry. He holds a B.S. degree from Northeastern University, where he studied Computer Science.

Kalamvokis is a Newton native and a resident of Needham, where he lives with his wife and three children.
