The Canton Police Department in Canton, Massachusetts, is currently auctioning off a vintage 1965 Ford Galaxie police car. This online auction is open to the public at and ends on Friday, September 29th. Massachusetts residents are able to bid in this government auction online, 24/7, on Municibid. This auction will help a Bay Stater get a fantastic deal on a vintage car for their collection (or the perfect gift for a retired police officer)!

Why is this auction important? All of the proceeds from this auction are going right back to the Canton Police Department to help fund safety initiatives for the local community. The funds can be used for new police equipment and initiatives that will help keep the local Canton community safe.

The police car has 58,872 miles on it and features a V8 engine. The car starts and runs and has recently been on the road. The winner of this auction will own a car model that has had a huge presence in the entertainment industry! 1965 Ford Galaxie cars have been featured in high-profile movies such as Remember the Titans, Crazy/Beautiful, and Doctor Dolittle. A 1965 Ford Galaxie was also the winner of the 1965 Daytona 500!

Founded in 2006, Municibid, a five-time Inc. 5000 member (2018-2022), serves over 5,000 governments and schools across the US who use Municibid to auction off fire trucks, buses, ambulances, heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, and other surplus goods to the public online.
