A recall has been announced by Hatch Baby on July 3rd for power adapters sold with Rest 1st Generation sound machines for risk of a shock hazard to consumers. About 919,400 units were sold in the United States and are now being recalled in the U.S. and Canada.

The units were sold online at Amazon.com, BuyBuyBaby, Target, Walmart, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn Kids and BestBuy stores for $60-$70 from January 2019-September 2022 with certain Rest 1st Generation sound machines. They were also sold with sound machines from Amazon.com for $60-$200 from January 2019-May 2024.

Consumers should cease using the power adapters sold with Rest 1st Generation sound machines and contact Hatch for a free replacement power adapter. Consumers should unplug the cord, cut the cord on the recalled power adapter, then take a photo of the adapter showing the model number and cut cord. Upload the photo with name and mailing address to www.hatch.co/adapterrecall. Hatch is also contacting registered owners directly.

Two consumers reported a minor electrical shock when the plastic housing surrounding the AC power adapter has come off.
