WESTWOOD, MA – July 21, 2025
Half a century after crossing the graduation stage, the Westwood High School Class of 1975 is coming home for a 50th Reunion Celebration that goes beyond nostalgia. The golden anniversary gathering, themed “Then & Now,” will span two days of festivities. Alumni will revisit cherished high school traditions and celebrate five decades of friendship and community. The reunion weekend features a Friday night football game, a Saturday campus tour with a memorial tribute, and a Saturday evening gala—all reflecting the class’s journey from 1975 to today.
Reunion Weekend Events
· Friday, October 10 – Reunion Football Kick-off: The festivities kick off as the Class of ’75 gathers at Westwood High’s home football game (Wolverines vs. Mustangs) at 7:00 PM. Alumni will have a special meet-and-greet section in the stands to cheer on the team, rekindling school spirit just like “then.” It’s a casual start to the weekend, giving classmates a chance to reconnect under the Friday night lights.
· Saturday, October 11 (Day) – “Then & Now” Campus Tour & Memorial Tribute: During the day on Saturday, Westwood High will welcome back the Class of ’75 for a guided campus tour. An interactive “Then & Now” activity is planned, including a throwback 1975-style lunch in the cafeteria for the adventurous. The tour culminates in a poignant memorial “Wheels & Wings” tribute and remembrance in the gymnasium, honoring the 36 deceased members of the class with a special ceremony..
· Saturday, October 11 (Evening) – 50th Reunion Gala: The weekend celebration concludes Saturday night with a reunion gala. Classmates will gather at The Norfolk Golf Club in Westwood (casual chic attire encouraged) for food, drinks, and tribute presentations. It promises to be an unforgettable capstone event where alumni can catch up, share stories, and create new memories together.
“I strongly urge everyone to attend the 50th Reunion,” said Jim Cook, alumnus and Reunion Committee member. “You grew up with these people – they knew you before you had a ‘professional face.’ It’s like hanging out with your siblings… you just relax. Heck, I was a wallflower in high school, and I have a great time at the reunions. If I can enjoy it, anyone can.”
“Reconnecting with classmates has kindled so many memories of growing up in Westwood in the ‘60s and ‘70s,” adds Carol Elmes Ahearn, a longtime Westwood resident and active Reunion Committee member. “It’s been special sharing how our town and we have all changed.”
Early Bird Raffle Alumni who purchase tickets by July 31 will receive special reunion pricing and be entered into an Early Bird raffle. One lucky winner will be announced on August 1 on the reunion website.
