Westwood UNITED Lacrosse Thanks Community for Supporting Recent Food Drive
By Treacy Kiley
Westwood Boys & Girls, Youth & High School Lacrosse Programs would like to thank all of the members of the Westwood community who contributed food and personal care items to its recent food drive. Your generosity and support helped make the drive a success that we look forward to making an annual tradition.
Following a two-year COVID-related hiatus, the Lacrosse Food Drive made a major come-back this year with all four Westwood lacrosse programs teaming up for the effort. After players spent the month of May gathering donations, the drive had a final collection day on 5/22 at Flahive where volunteers from all of the programs came together to organize and deliver all of the donations to the Food Pantry. It was great to see our players come together for this day of service and community-building.
We would also like to thank our generous sponsors 3dLacrosse and Lacrosse Loft for sponsoring prizes for our Volunteer and Donor “Gumball Guess” contest. This was a fun surprise for our volunteers and players who collected donations.
