As of this posting, there are six meetings of the government of the Town of Westwood, and two of those meetings belong to the School Committee. Highlights include:
Monday: Select Board hears from Energy Manager Tom Philbin on Solar Phase Two.
Tuesday: Planning Board discusses which actions in Westwood's Comprehensive Plan it plans to pursue in the near future.
Wednesday: School Committee follows its brief Monday meeting with a more robust agenda that includes a review of its policies.

Select Board Meeting via Zoom, Monday, October 24, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. Select Board hear an update from the town's Energy Manager Tom Philbin on Solar Phase Two. It will discuss the employment contract for the assistant town administrator/finance director, an integrated collective bargaining agreement with SEIU Local 888 Union, mitigation funds, and the Long Range Financial Planning Committee. Westwood Youth & Family Services Advisory Board Meeting via Zoom, Monday, October 24, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. The board will discuss a holiday giving program, updates on Wentworth Hall, Westwood Public Schools and the community. Board of Health In-Person Meeting, Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. The health director will report on Dom Astro Tatto Co. and give an update on the October 22nd flu clinic. The public health nurse will also report. This meeting will be held in the Champagne Meeting Room at 50 Carby Street.
Planning Board Public Hearings via Zoom, Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. The Planning Board will review Comprehensive Plan action items and discuss which actions it wishes to pursue in the near future.
It will also hold public hearings on applications related to permits and Environmental Impact & Design Reviews (EIDRs) at seven commercial and residential properties in Westwood. Applications to be reviewed are:
- A proposed gas station and convenience store at 394 and 396 Providence Highway;
- Construction of a dumpster enclosure that will reduce available parking spaces at 911 - 929 High Street;
- Landscape alterations and installation of an overhead door at 240 University Avenue;
- 24M Technologies Lithium Ion research and development facility at 26 Dartmouth Street;
- Earth material movement and EIDR at 510 Far Reach Road;
- Earth material movement and EIDR at 25 Fox Meadow Drive;
- Modifications to permit, earth material movement and EIDR for homes at 20 - 79 Abbey Road.
School Committee Meeting via Zoom, Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. School Committee will hear an update from the chair on Policy CBA- qualifications and duties of superintendent. It will also discuss committee policies related to support services and facilities development, and Policy ADF - wellness program. For information on how to join, click here.
