This Monday night, March 6th, Westwood Athletics (@WHSAthletics1) has announced that Westwood High School's (WHS's) Boys Basketball team has defeated Walpole High School, 62-57, in a sold-out game in the MIAA Division 2 Boys Basketball Round of 16 match. The team now advances to the Round of 8.
Last Friday, the WHS Boys Basketball team (No. 29 seed) upset Shepherd Hill Regional High School (No. 4 seed) by squeaking by with a one-point win, 55-54, at Shepherd Hill.
Last Thursday, before facing Westwood, the Walpole team (No. 20 seed) had won handily over West Springfield (No. 13 seed), 63-44.
Also on Monday night, Westwood Girls Basketball (@WWgirlshoops) tweeted that WHS Girls Basketball team has been awarded the Tri-Valley League Team Sportsmanship award.
The girls team prepares to play in their own Round of 16 match against Chicopee High School on Tuesday night, March 7th, at 6:00 p.m. in Westwood. Ticket information for Westwood's tournament game at home is available here.
Sunny, with a high of 63 and low of 38 degrees. Sunny in the morning, partly cloudy for the afternoon and evening, clear overnight.
First of all, the intersection improvements are scheduled for the upcoming years and they are not related to Westwood at all.
The plaza on 109 where the Post Office is located would be a prime site for a modern development. It is a relic from the 1950#. Why haven’t the town planners sought a project for that location?
This is Route 1, the most heavily commercialized corridor in the region, and calling this an “existential threat” isn’t based in reality.
