Canton Little League is representing Massachusetts in the New England Region Tournament of the 2023 Little League Baseball World Series, and will compete against Salem Little League/New Hampshire on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., in a game that is scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN.

Canton Little League had entered the regional tournament undefeated. In Game 1 against Vermont's St. Johnsbury Little League, Canton/Massachusetts came out victorious with a score of 12-0. But Canton/Massachusetts suffered its first loss on Monday, August 7, in Game 4 against Gray New Gloucester Little League/Maine. The score was 7-1.

Like Canton/Massachusetts, Salem/New Hampshire also won its game against St. Johnsbury/Vermont (Game 3, score 12-1), but lost to Maine (Game 2, score 3-0), setting up Wednesday's matchup.

If Canton/Massachusetts wins on Wednesday, the team will go on to face Maine in the New England Region Tournament Championship on Thursday, August 10th.

At the same time, top little league teams from around the nation are sorting out the pecking order in regional tournaments for the Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, Mountain, Northwest, Southwest, Metro, Midwest, Southwest, and West regions.

Victors of the regional tournaments will compete against each other beginning August 16. The entire series culminates with the Little League World Series Championship game on Sunday, August 27th, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
