Statement of Congressman Auchincloss on Terrorist Attacks on Israel

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, Congressman Jake Auchincloss (D, MA-04) released the following statement from Washington, D.C.:

“This morning, on the last day of one of the most important festivals in the Jewish calendar and almost 50 years to the day after Egypt and Syria’s surprise attack on Israel, Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists attacked Israel from Gaza by land, air, and sea without provocation. Israeli casualties are in the hundreds.

“I fully support Israel’s right to respond and its obligation to its own citizens to defend the Jewish state through military force. I encourage the Biden administration to maintain close & constant engagement with Israeli leaders to ensure the United States is supporting all efforts to achieve a ceasefire.”
