I appreciate the article by Allison Drescher regarding our rising property taxes. I support a new fire station. I am concerned about what the future has in store. I.e., What is the plan for the Deerfield School? What we know is the students and teachers will be moved to the new Pine Hill School during the February, 2024 school vacation. However, what is the plan after the move (one month from now)? Is it going to be used to house something else that is in the plans? Apparently, it is not available to temporarily house the WFD since the Legion building is going to be used for that purpose. I know of senior citizens who are forced to sell their homes due to the continuously rising Westwood property taxes. How is this fair?

Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 48 and low of 30 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Overcast during the morning, cloudy for the afternoon, overcast during the evening, light drizzle overnight.
These are great strides in addressing concerns about a lack of openness and two way dialogue raised by Westwood citizens. Thanks to the Select Board and to Mr. Read for listening and acting.
Thank you Ms. Galkowski for this thoughtful acknowledgement of positive steps being made by our Town government. My generation loves the positive empowerment. Exemplary.
In promulgating the public comment policy, the Select Board has taken a big step towards showing willingness to engage in conversation with Westwood residents about the many important issues at hand—currently, the Fire Station 1 and the budget.
