U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss (MA-04) will chair the new Technology, Media and the Family Working Group of the Congressional Dads Caucus, announced caucus founder and chair U.S. Representative Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) on Friday, March 1st.

The working group will convene subject matter experts to educate members on issues related to modern technology and media and their impact on families. A particular focus will be on children’s mental health and online safety.

“Kids’ privacy, health and safety online is crucial, especially as they have unprecedented access to the internet. As parents and as legislators, it is our responsibility to ensure our kids are safe as they navigate today’s digital age. I am confident that Rep. Auchincloss will use this platform to advance policies and ideas that protect our children with every new technological advancement,” said Gomez.

"Parents shouldn’t have to wrestle with trillion-dollar social-media corporations over what’s best for their children. Meta, TikTok, and the rest are attention-fracking America’s youth, but they are so big and so profitable that they have knocked down objectors. As a millennial parent in Congress, I am intent on taking on their corporate greed to protect our children’s mental health, cognitive development, and sense of self,” said Auchincloss.
