Dedham-Westwood Water District announced on October 23 from Dedham that it will be shutting down its online portal services on Sunday, October 26 at 8 p.m. in preparation to convert to new water billing software that it expects will better serve customers.

All online payments will be temporarily suspended and customers will not be able to use their online portal accounts while the billing software conversion is in progress, says the water district. The conversion is expected to be complete on Saturday, November 1.

Once the conversion is complete, customers will experience several new changes, including new account numbers, a new online portal and payment provider, additional payment options, improved bill layout, and more. The water district notes that a summary of the changes will be sent to all of its customers in the mail this week. The mailing can also be viewed online.

Customers who are currently enrolled in autopay need not re-enroll. Their payments will continue as scheduled the water district’s migration to the new billing and payment system.

Dedham-Westwood Water district notes that it won’t be calling customers to request personal or financial information over the phone. Customers who receive requests for such information should be aware of possible scams.
