Needham Teenager Charged in Fatal Shooting of Boston Woman in Roxbury

Image capture from Google Maps, Aug 2024. A Needham juvenile is charged in connection with the 2025 death of a Boston woman who was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of these apartments on Washington Street in Roxbury.

A 16-year-old Needham resident has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to the Boston Police Department in a statement released on Wednesday, March 18.

The juvenile is in police custody on unrelated firearms charges. Police expect him to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court at a later date.

Around 1:07 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, officers responded to the area of 1855 Washington Street in Roxbury after receiving a call about a gunshot victim and found 61-year-old Marie Molea-Anthony of Boston, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Boston Police urge anyone with information to contact the homicide unit at (617) 343-4470. Police also say that anonymous tips can be left on the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-8477 (TIPS), or by sending a text to 27463 (“CRIME”) with the word “TIP,” or by submitting information through an online form.
