From now through Thursday, October 22, Westwood Public Library is inviting residents to take a short community survey as part of Strategy Refresh, a regular planning process the library conducts every three to five years in accordance with state guidelines, to help shape the library’s shorter term priorities and longer term vision.
Responses will help the library understand what the community needs most, shaping immediate priorities for the next 18 to 24 months while guiding the library’s longer-term vision for the next five years.
“This is your chance to tell us what matters to you,” said Library Director Lizzy McGovern. “Whether you are here for storytime, to study, to grab books on the go, or you haven’t set foot in the library in years, we want to hear what would make the library more valuable in your day-to-day life.”
The survey takes about 5 to 10 minutes and asks about everything from favorite services and new program ideas to how the library spaces could work better.
Survey participants do not need to be library users. Survey coordinators are interested in each perspective, and notes that all responses are confidential.
Respondents can provide an email address, however, to be entered into a drawing and be notified if they have won one of three Westwood Public Library merchandise prizes.
To take the survey, community members can click here or scan the QR code that appears at the bottom of this article, on flyers at library service desks, and around town. They can also visit westwoodlibrary.org. Paper copies of the survey are available upon request at the Main Library and Islington Branch.
