This summer, historic Powisset Farm invites visitors to its 109-acre property for its Thursday Summer Sunsets series. The events will occur one Thursday a month throughout the summer, on June 25, July 23 and August 13, from 5:30 to 8:00PM.
Thursday Summer Sunsets offer a unique opportunity for all ages to savor the idyllic evening moments of summer, with music from local musicians, and great food and drink, all in an authentic farm setting – the ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
In addition to live music from local musicians and food including wood-fired pizza, visitors will discover a variety of summer activities to enjoy, including lawn games, walking trails, and visits with the barnyard animals. All activities and parking are included in the ticket price.
Food and beverages are available for purchase. A menu of local craft beer will also be available, along with wine and non-alcoholic seltzers. Outside food and drink are not permitted.
Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, as picnic table seating is limited.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged but not required. Tickets may be purchased upon arrival at the farm or in advance at thetrustees.org/powissetevents. The cost is Adult Member: $12; Member Child: $9; Nonmember Adult: $20; Nonmember Child: $15; Children 3 and under are free.

Sunny, with a high of 91 and low of 67 degrees. Sunny for the morning, partly cloudy for the afternoon, clear in the evening,
This needed to happen 5 years ago. But now the real wrangling begins as MPT will fight to get as much $$$ as they can from the state as possible”just compensation.”
I appreciate all of the work and time that the FS1 Steering Committee and Select Board have put into this process. I've also noticed a big difference in communication around this from the town on Facebook and Westwood Wire. This feels like a much different process than the first time around.
Combing the FS1 vote with the general election makes a ton of sense, and in fact, makes me wonder why not do this will ALL elections instead of holding town elections in April?
Just a reminder that you can e-mail the FS1 Committee at FS1Committee@westwoodma.gov with questions/feedback, etc.
Two different votes for the Project?
First one in October for 'site selection, budget, and funding sources' for a new FS1.
Then, a November vote for 'designing, constructing, equipping, and furnishing' of a new FS1.
Seems repetitive.
