How to Participate in Town Government - Week of February 12, 2023 (Updated)

Highlights of town government this week:

Mon. 2/13: Select Board hears about PFAS regulations, the proposed FY 2024 budget, a proposed cancer institute and more.

Tues. 2/14: Finance and Warrant Commission hears a presentation on the proposed FY 2024 budget from Select Board, Westwood Public Schools and town staff.

Fri. 2/17: School Committee Policy Review Subcommittee meets on policies related to instruction.

Select Board Meeting via Zoom, Monday, February 13, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. Dedham Westwood Water District will give a presentation on Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) regulations, Assistant Town Administrator and Finance Director Stephanie McManus will discuss the proposed FY2024 budget, a Memorandum of Agreement will be discussed regarding a Dana Farber Cancer Institute Proton Therapy Facility, and Select Board will discuss articles for Town Meeting with the potential to vote to amend, accept, or remove them.

Board of Library Trustees Meeting via Zoom, Monday, February 13, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The board will discuss Strategic Plan action items, an update on the search for a Poet Laureate, the Islington Branch Library, state aid, budget, and other items.

Finance and Warrant Commission Meeting via Zoom, Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The commission will hear presentations on proposed budget warrant articles and the proposed 2024 budget from Select Board Chair Robert Gotti, Town Administrator Christopher Coleman, and Assistant Town Administrator and Finance Director Stephanie McManus. Also presenting on the proposed FY2024 School Budget will be Superintendent Emily Parks with Westwood Public Schools Director of Finance and Operations Lemma Jn-Baptiste. There will also be an update regarding Hale.

Finance and Warrant Commission Meeting via Zoom, Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. (if necessary). This meeting will be held if further discussion is needed following the commission's remote meeting on Tuesday, February 14th.

School Committee Policy Review Subcommittee In-Person Meeting, Friday, February 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.  The subcommittee will review and evaluate School Committee policies related to instruction (Section I). 

This meeting will be held at 220 Nahatan Street in the Professional Development Room, Side B.
