Escaped Inmate from Norfolk Facility is Located in Foxborough, Taken into Custody
After a 72 year-old inmate walked away from the Pondville Corretional Center in Norfolk on Tuesday morning, October 1st, the Massachusetts Department of Corrections (DOC) has announced around 8:00 p.m. that the escapee was located that evening in Foxborough, and that investigators have taken him into custody.
The DOC investigators have charged Kevin O-Brien with escape from a correctional facility. He was serving a sentence for motor vehicle theft when he went missing.
Mr. O’Brien had last been seen on the grounds of the minimum/pre-release facility in Norfolk around 9:30 a.m. He was discovered missing around 11:00 a.m. during a routine check.
Video footage showed Mr. O'Brien leaving the facility’s track area and walking into the woods around 10:00 a.m. He was wearing dark blue jeans, a crewneck sweatshirt, a navy-blue windbreaker and navy-blue ballcap.
When searching for the missing inmate, the DOC called on area police departments and the state police for assistance. Drones and K-9 units were also used in the search.
