A Very Well Credentialed Moon Over Westwood

The full moon of Tuesday, May 25th  to Wednesday, May 26th was not only a super moon, but a blood moon, due to its coinciding with a total lunar eclipse which gave its appearance a reddish tint.  As a super moon, it was a moon at its closest point in orbit to the earth, beating even April's super moon by 98 miles.

As if those credentials aren't enough, the full moon in May is also called a Flower Moon, due to the flowers that bloom at this time of year.

The super flower blood moon reached its closest point to earth at 9:21 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25th, and its fullest on Wednesday, May 26th at 7:14 a.m.

The full lunar eclipse was not viewable from Massachusetts, but videos of the event are online.  Here's one to check out - click here.
