Director Steve Small has chosen to set the love triangle story of William Shakespeare's Two Gentlemen of Verona in the Doo Wop era of the late 1950's and early 1960's. Shakespeare's characters will be portrayed as bobby-soxers, nerds, beatniks, and greasers. There will be lots of laughs, lots of Doo Wop music, and of course, a happy ending.
All performances are at 5:00 p.m. and are free. They will be held in Medfield and Walpole locations. Patrons are invited to bring lawn chairs/blankets and picnics to these outdoor venues:
- July 20, 21, 27 & 28 at Bellforge Arts Center, 45 Hospital Road, Medfield. (In case of rain, location will be United Church of Christ, 496 Main Street, Medfield.)
- August 3 & 4 at Bird Park, 135 Polley Lane, Walpole. (In case of rain, location will be Footlighters Playhouse, 2 Scout Road.)
Patrons are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets and picnics to these outdoor venues.
