How to Participate in Town Government - Week of August 21, 2022

This week, Westwood's Select Board and the Recreation Commission both hold meetings on Monday. Select Board continues its discussion of potential funding sources to address a funding gap for the Hanlon-Deerfield Building Project. The Recreation Commission discusses a new organizational structure and inclusive programming.

The Office of the Town Clerk also prepares for upcoming Election Day in September by testing the town's voting equipment on Friday.


Select Board Meeting and Public Hearings via Zoom Monday, August 22, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. The Chair will provide an update on Dedham Westwood Water District mandatory water among other items. The board will discuss funding for the Hanlon-Deerfield School Building Project and Fall Town Meeting and/or a Special Town Meeting.

Additionally, the board will hold public hearings on alcohol licenses for Neroli Mercato and Neroli Restaurant and a special one-day license for Hale Education's Steam Kettle Music Festival.

Recreation Commission Meeting via Zoom, Monday, August 22, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.  The commission will hear reports on inclusivity programming, a new organizational structure and a potential new member, among other items. It will discuss updates on Westwood Day, facilities, and summer and fall programs. There will also be a vote on whether to meet in-person or via Zoom in the future.

Testing Voting Equipment on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. for the State Primary Election on September 6, 2022. Testing of the town's voting equipment in advance of Election Day will take place at Westwood Town Hall in the Office of the Town Clerk at 580 High Street.
