How to Participate in Town Government - Week of January 15, 2023

It's a busy week for meetings of Westwood's town government. A few highlights follow, all occurring on Tuesday, January 17th:
- Finance & Warrant Commission will hear presentations on articles planned to be presented for residents' approval at May's Town meeting, including changing the positions of town treasurer and town collector from elected to appointed positions. Presentations will be made by members of town staff, Select Board, and Planning Board.
- Board of Health votes on license approval for a body art practicioner.
- Blue Hills Regional School Committee meets for the first time this year.
Board of Assessors In-Person Meeting, Tuesday, January 17 2023 at 5:00 p.m. The board will discuss current Appellate Tax Board case(s), "Abbey Rd. Soccer Field." It will review FY2023 abatement applications. This meeting will be held at 588 High Street in the Jaillet Meeting Room. For information, click here.
Board of Health In-Person Meeting, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. The board will hear reports from the public health nurse and health director and vote to approve the license of a body art practitioner. This meeting will be held at 50 Carby Street in the Champagne Meeting Room. For information, click here.
Blue Hills Regional School Committee In-Person Meeting, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The committee will hear reports from the treasurer, DSC student representative, dean of students, director of special services, vocational director, superintendent, DSC chair, a principal, business manager and subcommittees. This meeting will be held in Canton at 800 Randolph Street, BHR Room W-218.
Finance & Warrant Commission Meeting via Zoom, Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The committee will hear presentations from town staff, Select Board, and Planning Board about the articles that are planned to be put to residents' vote at May's Town Meeting. The committee will also hear an informational overview from Westwood Housing Authority and Westwood Affordable Housing Associates. For information on how to join, click here.

Permanent Building Committee and School Building Committee Joint Meeting via Zoom, Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. There will be a construction project update, budget update, "[d]iscussion on alternatives" and voting on various issues. For information on how to join, click here.
Zoning Board of Appeals Public Hearing via Zoom, Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The board will hear an application to attach an accessory apartment the the rear of the residence at 244 Farm Lane. For information on how to join, click here.
