Through the deadline of March 31, 2023, Westwood Youth and Family Services and Westwood Rotary Club continue to seek nominations for the Recognize-A-Youth Award, an award given to young people in the community who have demonstrated a commitment to helping others. Award recipients receive a certificate of appreciation and a small gift.

Past recipients of the award include a tutor to an elementary school neighbor, someone who rakes leaves for a senior, a creator of a social media campaign to end stereotypes, a fundraiser for a non-profit, and organizers of of clothing and birthday present collections to donate to less fortunate children.

The nomination form can be found online here.

Any community member (need not be a resident) can submit a nomination of young person for consideration. However, the nominator must not be a family member of the candidate. Also, family members of SY&FS, its board of advisors and the Westwood Rotary are not eligible.
