How to Participate in Town Government - Week of April 2, 2023 (Updated 4/4/2023)

As of this posting, there are three meetings of Westwood's town government this week: 

Mon. 4/3: Select Board discusses quorum reduction and a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Public Works (DPW) employees

Tues. 4/4: Westwood Early Childhood Advisory Council discusses programming and open positions.

Wed. 4/5: School Committee holds a public hearing on school choice and takes action on a contract to bring a new superintendent to Westwood Public School. UPDATE: School Committee's revised meeting schedule deletes school choice from the agenda.


MONDAY

Select Board Meeting via Zoom, Monday, April 3, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. Select Board will discuss/vote to sign and post the 2023 Annual Town Election and Annual Town Meeting Warrant, and will hold a discussion on quorum reduction. It will discuss a memorandum of agreement with United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 1445 (DPW). The board will enter executive session to discuss disposition of property.

TUESDAY

Westwood Early Childhood Advisory Council In-Person Meeting, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 1:15 p.m. The Council will discuss programming, fundraising, and open positions among other items. This meeting is being held in the Wentworth Hall Lower Level Conference Room. For more information, click here.


WEDNESDAY

School Committee In-Person Public Hearing and Meeting, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The School Committee will hold a public hearing on school choice, vote to establish elementary districts, hear a Q3 financial report and an overview and thoughts on artificial intelligence in education, among other topics. It will also take a break to enter executive session regarding negotiations with the superintendent, and emerge from executive session to take action on a contract with the superintendent. 

UPDATE: But for the topic of contract negotiations with the new superintendent, School Committee's revised agenda deletes the aforementioned topics from its agenda to focus on a discussion of security initiatives.
