Thanks to the Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) for sharing this news with Westwood Minute.
The Animal Rescue League of Boston (ARL) has taken in nearly 30 puppies from overcrowded shelters in areas of Mississippi that were recently devastated by tornadoes in late March.
ARL’s Dedham, Boston, and Brewster Animal Care and Adoption Centers received the puppies. They will undergo thorough veterinary exams, and receive spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchips, and behavioral evaluations before being made available for adoption.
While overcrowded animal shelters are common in Mississippi, in the wake of the devastating storms, it was imperative for animal shelters in the impacted regions to clear as much kennel space as possible to accommodate displaced owned pets. ARL accepted a larger transport than usual in this case.
ARL receives regular transports of puppies and young adult dogs as part of a partnership with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) Animal Relocation Program. The program removes animals from areas of the country where overcrowded shelters are an issue. It transports them to regions, including New England, where overcrowding is not an issue, but there is a high demand for adoptable pets.
ARL advises interested adopters that while the puppies are not yet available for adoption, their status is expected change to become available for adoption within the next week.
Such a poor business plan. Always was.
You're raising cattle on the land you could be utilizing for vegetables? Land that's more valuable (ROI) to growing vegetables vs. having insufficient land for raising enough cattle to make a go (profit) for your "passion". Not following.
Sunny, with a high of 105 and low of 75 degrees. Sunny in the morning, clear overnight.
Could we get a list of the 'neighborhoods' affected so we can be extra vigilant and possibly be helpful in finding the perpetrators?
Yes, I'm working on a separate article with updates. Look for it to post soon!
