The next in a series of community meetings for Westwood residents regarding the proposed new Fire Station 1 will take place on Tuesday, March 4th at 7:00 p.m. in the Westwood Main Library, during which attendees will have the opportunity to meet with members of the Westwood Fire Department.

WFD representatives will discuss the elements of the proposed new station and how it will help them provide vital health and safety services throughout the town.

Town officials have noted that Westwood's existing Fire Station 1, originally built in 1948 and last renovated and expanded in 1975, no longer meets the town's needs. The proposed new station would provide a modern facility that addresses those shortcomings and supports the fire department's mission of protecting the community.

The project will be brought before residents for a vote at Westwood's upcoming Town Meeting on Monday, May 19th and subsequently at the election on June 3rd.
