Last week, Rabbi Karen Citrin of Westwood's Temple Beth David invited members of Westwood's clergy to visit the Sukkah, built by members of the temple, in celebration of the holiday of Sukkot. This year, Sukkot began at sunset on September 29th and ended at sunset on  October 6th.

One day later, on Saturday, October 7th, Israel was at war against Hamas after Palestinian militants attacked Israel in the morning, killing hundreds, wounding many more, and taking hostages.

"In this time of violence and hatred, I thought it might be nice to show a picture of interfaith congeniality and mutual respect," writes Westwood resident Connie Rizoli, who a few days later submitted the above photo of leaders of Westwood's faith communities, coming together at Temple Beth David's Sukkah.

Thanks to Connie Rizoli for sharing this moment in time in Westwood.
