Westwood Public Library on April 3rd has announced that Norwood resident Caitlin Anne and her short story, Prom at the Waldorf Astoria, 1951, have won the library's One Book, One Town Writing Contest that was open for submissions during the month of March.
Ms. Anne proudly shares the award with her beloved late grandmother, Anne, whose senior year prom photo inspired the story.

The contest was part of the library's month-long series of community events and activities promoting a shared, townwide experience, centered around the themes of one book, Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng.
Westwood Minute is honored to publish the winning submission, Prom at the Waldorf Astoria, 1951, for readers' enjoyment.
Thanks to Westwood Public Library for contributing this news to Westwood Minute.
The cost of $27,000 could have been avoided if the tax payers were notified about the idea of taking the WLT to court and it was discussed at a regular town meeting. Especially when a town takes the unusual step of taking its own land trust to court.
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 36 and low of 33 degrees. Light drizzle in the morning, mist in the afternoon, clear in the evening, mist overnight.
The Select Board will never admit they were wrong, and thus, will press forward. And based on Town Council's very bad advice.
But what are friends for?
Circle the wagons...
