Westwood's Department of Public Works is planning to begin summer paving projects around July 8th, announced Westwood Select Board Chair Joe Previtera in the chair's update at the start of the board's meeting earlier this week.
Mr. Previtera announced the streets planned to be paved as:
- Gay Street (from Thatcher Street to Washington Street)
- Brookfield Road
- Marshall Street
- Pine Lane
- Schaffer Avenue
Detours are planned to be announced on the Town of Westwood message boards, he said, and updates will appear on the Town's website or the DPW page.
Updated June 29, 2024 at 11:28 a.m. This article was initially titled, "Westwood to Begin Schedule of Summer Street Paving" and has been retitled to "Westwood to Begin Summer Schedule of Street Paving," which more clearly communicates that paving is happening in the summer. The street paving schedule so far announced by the town does not include Summer Street.

The article title is VERY misleading; Summer Street is NOT being paved this year.
Thanks for raising that point, Brandon! The headline has now been changed to more clearly communicate that the article describes a summer schedule of street paving. I agree the initial headline could easily be read to mean, incorrectly, that Summer Street is being paved. Thanks for the helpful comment.
